However we should recognise that this invitation is not neutral but structured. In this regard, ideologies play a role in determining how the invitation is contructed. They remain pure and moral by staying removed from society. The audience learns, however, that this ordinary, all-American family has recently fallen on difficult financial times and is now forced to live in decrepit housing conditions.

Frustration comes from the suffering of each family, which can be caused by any number of reasons but is almost always rooted in something outside the social structure, such as health problems, accidents, and natural disasters. 6. The show insists on the mismatch between the moral standard of families and their material conditions. If you are a good person, you deserve appropriate, middle class, material condition. Therefore, if you your moral standards are low, then you deserve social sufferings. As a result, those living in poverty are the main cause of their troubles.
