  1. Child  Protec-on  Policy  and  Code  of   Conduct   • 

    Deaf  Development  Program  (Maryknoll  Cambodia)     –  Students  over  16  but  mostly  18  and  over   –  Current  Policy  covers  Maryknoll  Cambodia  as  blanket  Policy.   Incorporated  in  the  Personnel  Policy  not  as  stand  alone  Policy.       –  Code  of  Conduct  in  place.   –  No  Child  Protec-on  procedures.       •  Marist  Solidarity  Cambodia  (Marist  Bros)   –  All  students  are  under  18  with  the  excep-on  of  a  couple  of  intellectual   handicapped  students  over  18.     –  No  Policy  or  Procedures.  Both  currently  being  Developed.     (Underdevelopment)   –  No  Code  of  Conduct     •  MOA  with  AVI  includes  the  need  for  organisa-ons  to  have   adequate  Child  Protec-on  Policy,  Procedures,  and  a  Code  of   Conduct.    
  2. Working  with  Children     •  With  both  organisa-ons  the

     majority  of  the   staff  are  directly  involved  in  working  with   children.  MSC  much  more  than  DDP.     •  Categories  of  Staff:  administra-on  (almost  all   ex  students);  teachers;  house  parents;   cleaners;  cooks;  grounds  staff;  drivers.  Also   has  construc-on  staff  on  site  from  -me  to   -me.     •  Visitors  and  volunteers

                        Child  Protec-on   •  Involvement  on  School  Boards;   •  Friend  of  Family  convicted  of  Child  Abuse  offences;   •  Working  with  Welfare  agencies  both  Catholic  and  Anglican;   •  Placement    –  Uni-ng  Church  Home  for  Abused  children;   •  Lecturer  –  completed  Child  Protec-on  training  for  Blue   Card;   •  Tabatha;     •  Royal  Commission  in  Australia   •  Pre-­‐departure  training;     •  ChildFund  Australia;   •  Preparing  Policies  and  other  documents  for  DDP  and  MSC.   •  Challenges:  Deaf  Community;  Disabled    Community
