1. Lab-09 Replication Health Insurance Rates by County
2. Create a new project named Lab-09. Different versions of ArcGIS Pro may have a different initial screen. Look to create a new project. Uncheck the option to create a new folder.
3. Insert New Map
4. 2. Add the County Health Insurance Estimate and State Capitals.
5. 2. Symbolize state capitals with a star.
6. 3. Navigate to coordinate system properties.
7. 3. Select an appropriate system. In this case, NAD 1983 Contiguous USA Albers
8. 4. Navigate to symbology.
9. 4. Symbolize by graduated colors.
10. 4. Make sure to use a Color Brewer Palette, Jenks Natural Breaks and 5 data classes.
11. 4. Zoom to the extent of the contiguous United States.
12. 6. Export as a PDF at 300 DPI.
13. 7. Create a new map.
14. 7. Copy the same data from the first map.
15. 8. Navigate to coordinate system.
16. 8. Select an appropriate system for Alaska, in this case, the Albers state system for Alaska.
17. 9. Reposition the map to focus on Alaska.
18. 10. Export the map.
19. 10. Save as a PDF at 300 DPI.
20. 11. Create a new map and add the same data again.
21. 12. Change the coordinate system to one appropriate for Hawaii. In this case, Hawaii Albers Equal Area.
22. 13. Reposition again, and save this map as a PDF at 300 DPI.
