    full of screens ➤ I talk to these screens ➤ Sometimes I yell at the screens ➤ I occasionally fight crime ➤ Maybe save some lives ➤ Celebrate with a dance party ➤ Some people call this programming
  3. WHAT IS CODE ➤ Code is a set of instructions

    for a computer ➤ It follows a format and rules ➤ It can create, destroy and alters things ➤ Draw your favorite video game character to the screen ➤ Make a robot wash your car ➤ Make the office microwave burn your burrito

  5. WHY YOU SHOULD CODE Reason 1: You can do amazing

    creative things and the supplies are free
  6. WHY YOU SHOULD CODE Reason 2: You can do good

    things for people and the world
  7. LAST PIECE OF CODE I WROTE ➤ Checks if user

    is on our mailing list ➤ If they are, then they can skip on waiting for an invitation
  8. WHY YOU SHOULD CODE Reason 3: You will meet interesting

    people, go to fascinating places, and learn more than you can imagine
  9. WANT TO DO WHAT I DO? ➤ Finish 4th grade

    ➤ High School ➤ College (doesn’t hurt) ➤ Or the Air Force ➤ But wait! ➤ You can start right now.
  10. WRITING CODE ➤ Write down your problem or goal ➤

    Outline your problem ➤ Outline your solution ➤ Write your code ➤ Run your code ➤ It probably won’t work the first time ➤ Fix the issues and try again ➤ Happy dance
  11. WHY YOU SHOULD CODE Reason 4: You can solve your

    own problems and other people’s problems (Seriously. I could use some help with Single Sign On.)
