Provide Service 3. Get Paid, and 4. Keep Them
Today, I'll Talk About 1. Get Clients 2. Provide Service
3. Get Paid, and 4. Keep Them
Get Clients You don't need 10/20 clients You only need
1/2 quality client
Get Clients Portfolio is Overrated
Portfolio is Overrated 1. Not everyone is accessible
Portfolio is Overrated 2. You can't describe everything Especially most
important behind-the-scene efforts
Get Clients What matter more is, Network
Get Clients Network Creates Opportunities
Build Network Go out, join events, meet people (or) Go
online, interactive with people
Get Clients Proposals are overrated too
Proposals are Overrated Nobody want to read your 20 pages
long proposal that fill with confusing technical jargons Except client dedicatedly asked to you
Get Clients Build Trust and Relationship Instead
How? Provide Free Technical Consults, Generously
How? Show-Off Your Solutions at Every Opportunity * They won't
buy it but they will hire you to build another one
Quotation You need this one, seriously * It decide if
you get the client or not
Quotation Split Your Service, Add Options, Let Client Choose, Correct
If They Choose Wrong, Suggest Ideal Package

Let's Move On To Get Paid
Get Paid Always have Contract Even for tiniest project
Things to Include in Contract • What You Will Do
• What You Will Not Do • Client's Duties and Obligations • Delivery Schedule • Payment Schedule • Copyright/Trademark • Support Plan

Get Paid Invoice vs. Receipt Don't forget about withholding tax
Let's Move On To Keeping Clients
Keep Client Always available for support And charge for it
Keep Client Always Welcome Changes And charge for it
Keep Client Don't blame them or others for problems Fix
them and charge for them instead
Keep Client You do the job, but also let them
take the wheel sometime
Conclusion 1/2 quality client is much much better than 100
average or bad clients. Because, usually, 90% income come from those quality clients and you will end-up support 99 other clients for 10% of income.
Thank You Ei Maung ( Fairway Web )
