Talk given at Stanford University on 21 August 2013: CHI+MED (http://www.chi-med.ac.uk/) is a six-year UK research project to improve the safety of interactive medical devices. In safety-critical interfaces, the focus should be on reducing error, not necessarily speed of entry or what is most appealing to users. Error is a problem, even for skilled users. User interfaces can be made safer by selecting better combinations of design features. Now at the end of its fourth year, some results from the project will be shared during this talk.
