  1. Spatial verification with harpSpatial Alex Deckmyn (RMI), Andrew Singleton (MET

Norway), Christoph Zingerle (ZAMG), Bent Hansen Sass (DMI)
  2. A tale of two scores... harpSpatial is still, relatively speaking,

a toddler. It currently has only two teeth, called SAL and FSS. Other scores will be added now that the basic structure is in place. The shiny interface is very “2018”. A slightly different output approach: the score for each “case” (a forecast grid compared to a observed grid) is written as a row (or several rows) in a SQLite database. The shiny interface allows for selecting a date interval.
  3. A basic example Suppose we want to verify (deterministic) precipitation

from our model with Radar data in hdf5 format (in this case 1h accumulations). Note: at this moment in time, you need to install all the harp packages from my forked versions. The differences have not all been merged yet. install_github(“adeckmyn/harpSpatial”) But also the other harp packages
