expression or social connection Existing technologies do not help users manage their schedule, access data (scores and/or media), or efficiently manage organizations THE GAP

Their technology is outdated, expensive to operate and not agile The market has matured. Users are ready to use more sophisticated tools as long as the experience is designed uniquely for them - and tools in fact make their lives easier. WHY NOW?
  8. FIRST MOVER ADVANTAGE Owning the user’s personal sport calendar may

be the ultimate anchor to retaining Social Media users. It leads to the creation of a record of sport performances that cannot be substituted by device solutions (Camera Roll or Contacts) and, as a platform, will prove very difficult to displace.
  9. KEEPING IT SIMPLE In order to become a global platform,

Torch will focus on one thing: making scheduling fast, easy, and user-generated. The result will be a simple, flexible solution that addresses the key user “problem” in sport organization: knowing when, where, and against whom is the next game?! (Torch enables scheduling within competitions, but is not a comprehensive league and tournament administration platform, because leagues and tournaments are managed differently across sports and countries.) In the near future, we will open up our API’s to allow certified tournament and league management applications to publish schedules into Torch.
  10. 1. Huge margins in social media 2. Low user acquisition

costs due to natural team networks (players, coaches, teachers, staff, friends & family and fans) and frequency of new user acquisition events: weekly team games, pick-up games, new sport seasons 3. Content is unique and user-generated (score results, match reporting, media channels) 4. Frequent monetization opportunities throughout the week as players write and receive score & match reports. Great real estate for branded “immersive” experiences 5. Premium value to partners and advertisers as Torch offers emotionally targeted opportunities for user touch points (before games / after wins) 6. Early monetization possible through branded (product placement) of stock sport images 7. Unprecedented stickiness in social media anchored by Torch’s ownership of: A) a user’s personal schedule, and, B) history of player sport performances BUSINESS CASE
