Real-life implementation eEVOS at the Test and Presentation Track BILSTER BERG, Germany High Availability with Server Mirroring Bilster Berg uses two eEVOS servers to manage critical virtual machines, with one server located on each side of the track. If one server fails, the VMs are automatically restarted on the second server, ensuring minimal disruption. The VMs can also be Live Migrated between servers, allowing maintenance or load balancing without downtime. For backup, the customer relies on eEVOS's Instant Backup & Recovery to secure VMs and quickly restore them when needed. All four nodes are simultaneously connected via iSCSI to a euroNAS HA Cluster, which provides shared storage for the entire setup. The environment uses eEVOS with Ceph-based storage to ensure high availability, performance, and full redundancy. It functions similarly to VMware vSAN by distributing storage across nodes, but at significantly lower cost and without vendor lock-in. All components are managed through a simple web-based GUI, eliminating the need for deep Linux or command-line knowledge. The system uses three Seagate Exos CORVAULT 4U106 enclosures, each providing 2.5 petabytes of raw capacity. Each pair of eEKAS nodes shares one CORVAULT, resulting in a total of 7.5 petabytes of highly available raw storage. The architecture ensures full redundancy through dual 100 Gbit cluster replication switches and redundant spine networking.
