  4. Enthusiastic response from customers and partners “You've taken a true

cloud approach, whereas most storage vendors have just lifted their legacy solutions into the cloud. I think you’re positioned to disrupt.” –Adrian de Luca Head of Solution Architecture, Amazon “You’d think accessing data in the cloud is a solved problem - it isn't. It's the biggest issue any company working in high end compute has to deal with.” –Dillon Erb CEO, Paperspace “LucidLink worked flawlessly with our system. I can see immediate value for our customers on multiple fronts.” –Patrice Gouttebel Axle Video “You have amazing technology. From a user's perspective Lucid offers a secure and essentially limitless-scale local file system on a heterogenous ecosystem that can host and share essentially limitless sized files. That's amazing.“ –Senior developer Brightbytes
  5. What we’ve built The first secure, enterprise-scale file service for

cloud-object stores • No client infrastructure/gateways • Strong security through end-to-end encryption • Streaming, distributed, high-performance architecture • True enterprise scale (10’s of millions of files, 100’s of TB of storage) Innovative technology • Novel split metadata/data plane design for high performance • Advanced log-structured design for scalability Any S3-compliant provider • In the cloud – Amazon, Alibaba, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, IBM, Wasabi • On premise – Cloudian, Ceph, SwiftStack, Eucalyptus, Minio
  6. o Architected for high-latency environments though advanced prefetching, caching and

compression o High-performance through metadata synchronization and parallel data streaming o End-to-end, client side authenticated encryption o Log-structured design to address eventual consistency limitations o Supports all major OS platforms o Native integration at the file system level Architecture

and security puts LucidLink in a class of its own. LucidLink advantages • Configure as mount point or system folder for production • Scales well for large data sets and big files. • Full control over where data is stored. LucidLink advantages • No cloud gateways or complex networks to configure • Scales linearly • Uniform access from anywhere LucidLink advantages • Significant performance increase • Supports multi-cloud • Full OS support
  8. Inbound leads Self service Alliance co-market Content marketing Reseller channel

Object storage providers Software vendors MSP, Integrator Mid to large size deals Go to market strategy • Media and Entertainment & Dev and Test vertical focus • Target cloud server and container instances requiring persistent shared storage • Ideal for distributed workflows spanning edge and cloud with common data set
  9. Business model Simple SaaS pricing for unlimited number of clients

$0.05/GB per month for capacity under management Comparative economics example: AWS Elastic Block Storage (EBS) = $1230 / TB per year AWS Elastic File System (EFS) = $3680 / TB per year LucidLink + AWS S3 = $895 / TB per year *does not include any other S3 compatible storage providers such as Alibaba, on-premise installations etc. Premium features tier as they become available Customers bring their own storage or purchase turnkey
  10. Future LucidLink aims to become the standard for accessing distributed

data in the cloud Scalable cloud infrastructure to support thousands of file systems/accounts Roadmap Live data replication/migration between regions and clouds Support for additional cloud providers (Microsoft Azure) Web portal management enhancements Various third-party integrations Automatic snapshotting capabilities Mobile support Audit capabilities
  11. Management, investors and advisors Founders Team Advisors & Investors Peter

Thompson, CEO Managed APAC at DataCore, recently graduated Stanford GSB George Dochev, CTO Managed engineering at DataCore, expert in storage systems Umesh Maheshwari Co-founder and CTO of Nimble Storage Steve Anderson Baseline Ventures, #1 Investor Forbes Midas List Mark Templeton CEO of Citrix Systems from 2001-2015 Digital Ocean Peter Ziebelman Stanford Lecturer and Founding Partner of Palo Alto Venture Partners Recruited an exceptional engineering team of 10 with extensive prior experience from companies like VMware, Uber and DataCore. June 22, 2018 closed $5.5M Second Series Seed equity financing round at $18M valuation.
  12. LucidLink thinks you should. If you could connect to your

data seamlessly from anywhere as if it was stored locally, why wouldn’t you keep it in your own cloud account fully protected at the lowest cost?
  13. Use case: Video surveillance with analytics Common data respository for

distributed workflows Solution Ingest video directly to LucidLink file space using AWS S3 Gov Cloud. Result • Dramatically reduced complexity. • Best performance at lowest cost. • First customer in production. Problem • Three processes in multiple locations require access to the same large data set. • Ingest video feeds, run analytics, view output. • Must be hosted in AWS Gov Cloud.
  14. Use case: cloud file server 12 winery branches share key

marketing assets Solution Create shared LucidLink file space, each branch connects directly to the cloud. Problem Twelve branches of a wine consortium share marketing assets on file server at single location via VPN. Result Offload all management, better, faster connections, eliminate shadow IT workarounds.
  15. Use case: Industrial IoT write log data to the cloud

for real time analysis Solution • LucidLink provides each 3D printer with its own connection directly to the file system in the cloud. • Each computational node has the same access at no additional cost. Result • Near real-time analysis performed on the shared data set. • Automatic backup. • Eliminates the need for local storage. Problem • Metal 3D printers require ability to store huge (100 TB/year) amount of data for every machine and near real-time access to that data. • The data needs to be accessible both on the printer node and other computational nodes used to perform analysis and decisions making.
  16. Use case: common data set for online training system scale-out

performance scales linearly Problem Online training system requirement for 300 simultaneous students does not scale. Solution Replace fileserver with LucidLink so each client receives its own connection to the data set. Result • An 8x increase in performance. Linear scalability. • Cost reduction by eliminating individual data volumes. MB/s MB/s MB/s MB/s M B /
  17. Use case: elastic data volume for any application the last

storage upgrade ever required Problem • As build artifacts grow, we run out of storage. • Migrating the build environment to another server is a tedious, time consuming process. Solution Replace local storage with elastic object storage, hosted in the cloud and managed by LucidLink. Result • The Jenkins server required no reconfiguration. • The storage can now grow on demand. • Build artifacts are now accessible from any location, by any machine.
  18. Use case: persistent data volume, anywhere shared data volumes for

cloud servers Solution LucidLink acts as a shared global file space, accessible from anywhere. Result No additional network configuration, no VPN setup. Problem Cloud servers require data volumes shared to other cloud servers and edge devices.
  19. Use case: Instant access to archive data converge production, backup

and archive Problem • Customer performs work on a project basis, archiving the data upon completion. • They must keep the data for 10 years, and occasionally access it. • Once archived, accessing this data is difficult and time consuming. Solution • Use cost effective cloud object storage for storage. • Use LucidLink for instant remote access to the data without consuming local storage space. Result • Past projects can be accessed on demand at any time, from any location. • The customer saves time, and eliminates additional archive related infrastructure while adhering to regulations.
  20. Use case: Instant access to portions of files train algorithms

against video files Solution • Store all the video footage in LucidLink S3 and mount Lucid file space in the server performing the training. Result • Only the frames required by the application are transferred. • All 20TB data is immediately accessible, but does not consume local storage space. • Much faster training times. Problem • Algorithm is trained against a few frames from a 1GB video, but to do so the entire video must be downloaded. • There are 20,000 videos, so time and local storage capacity are a concern.
