  1. What is Organic? !   Organic, much like or home

grown Veg, we plant our seed (the web site) Nurture it, Water it, Feed it, move it to a better position where it slowly improves, (continually updating the site, Keywords and unique content) until grows and becomes a fully fledged plant. This is the Natural Way. Slowly moving up through the Search Pages.
  2. Sponsored Links !   Sponsored Links allows sites and site

owners to position themselves closer to god. However you will have to pay! This maybe a good way to move a site initially up through the ranks as this will give your site more coverage to slowly move up in organic searches also
  3. The Term !   “Sponsored Links : A paid advertisement

in the form of a hypertext link that shows up on search results pages. The ads are typically for products and services that are generally or very specifically related to the keywords in the search query (PC Mag, 2012)”
  4. How does it work? !   Payments to site publishers

to allow advertising on there site. Payment is given based upon a unique click on the advert also known a PPC ( Pay Per Click) !   Google started 2000 !   Google work on a quality score poor – great this can influence the price paid by the client to advertise. !   ROI (Return On Investment) pay to advertise and move a site up on Google could generate a good reward on investment. Putting your site on search engine results pages could end with potential clients to the company. !   Originally method used by Google was the higher the bid the high the rank
  5. !   Pay per click marketing. !   These sponsored

results differ from the organic Google results in that they're paid. Companies can enter into an auction to have their ad appear in Google sponsored links if it's relevant to a user's search query. !   This is called pay-per-click marketing, because the advertisers pay Google for clicks on their ads.
  6. Cost !   The cost of AdWords ! Googles AdWords

gives you control over your advertising costs. !   Companies can set the amount that they are prepared to pay when/if a person clicks on the sponsored link !   There's no minimum spending requirement. !   You get to set the maximum amount that you're willing to spend each day and choose how you'll spend your money.
  7. Cost cont. !   How costs are calculated !

Every time someone searches on Google, AdWords runs an auction to determine the ads that show on the search results, and their rank on the page. !   To place your ads in this auction, you set a bidding option in your google Adwords account.
  8. Costs cont !   Most people starting out in AdWords

use the basic cost-per-click bidding (CPC) option !   which means that they accrue costs based on the number of clicks that they get on their ads. !   The amount that you're charged per click depends in part on the maximum cost-per-click bid you set in your Google Adwords account, also called maximum CPC bid.
  9. Pay Per Click (PPC) !   “Search Engine marketing technique

used to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results page (SERP’s) through the use of paid placement, contextual advertising and paid inclusion.”Jim Gibson.
  10. The ad auction !   The concept !   Every

time an AdWords ad appears, it goes through what we call the auction, a process that decides which ads will appear and in which order. It's not like an art auction where the highest bidder always wins; instead, AdWords does something a little more interesting:
  11. Why it matters !   The most important thing to

remember is that the auction process uses both relevance and bids to determine the ad's position. So even if a competitor is paying a higher bid than another, the company paying the lower amount can still win a higher position – !   a lower price + highly relevant keywords = good page listing. !   The auction process is repeated on each search on Google and each timepotentially different results depending on the competition at that moment can be displayed. Page listing fluctuations are normal.
  12. How its applied !   In step 4 shown on

the next slide !   ads are ordered on the page (ad position) using a formula called Ad Rank. The main components of Ad Rank are the bids and the quality of ads, keywords and website of the client. To boost a sites position, a mixture of good quality keywords and a competitive bid.
