to Outsource SUMMARY KEYWORDS resources, task, note, person, loom, expect, folder, talk, phone, folded, rewatch, feel, extra expense, screen share, running, refer, listen, jot, shareable, video SPEAKERS Patricia Sung Patricia Sung 00:00 In case excess armor, even though you don't have somebody hired yet, actually want you to start doing this now, when you are doing the task that the person hopefully will take over for you, this is a time to actually make the notes on how you want them to do those things. How does that look? Patricia Sung 00:18 For example, if it's somebody who is your cleaning person, while you're cleaning something, jot down on your phone real quick, here's what I expect out of that. If you want your socks folded a certain way, make a little note of that. So that way, when you are training them later, you already have a list of notes of things that you know, you want to tell them when you're getting ready. Patricia Sung 00:36 If you are doing computer tasks, like say this is for like a VA for your company, you can screen record yourself as you do it and explain it so that you're getting like double duty out of it, you're not having to like re explain things to them. As you are doing that task. You can I use loom you can also use Zoom, and do a screen share and then talk through what you're doing as you go, what matters, what are the details to look for. The great part about having that screen record or if you're doing it on your phone, the you can like do a voice recording and just talk while you're doing something talk it out is that you can save that document, you can have a transcription of it if you like, but you have that already saved in the person can have that to refer back to. So when they're confused later, like, Oh, what did I What was I supposed to do with this, they can go back to that video and watch it again or to that audio and listen to it again, and have that as a reference point. So they're not always coming back to you with the questions. They can go to their resources, multiple teachers determine their user resources, they can go to the resources and say, Okay, what did she say about this? What did she mean by this and they can rewatch it or re listen to it, and catch those details so that you're not the one repeating yourself all the time. And then you're just feeling the questions that you didn't explain in that video. And it makes both, you feel confident that they know exactly how you want that thing done. And also they feel confident knowing I know exactly how she wants this done, because that's one of the hardest parts of having someone take over part of your business is feeling like what if they don't do it as I wanted it. 2. Transcribed by https://otter.ai - 2 - So if you are

exactly laying it out on a video or in a audio, that makes it far more likely that what their end product is going to look like is similar to what you are expecting out of it. So try to do your best to remember when you're doing it, make a little note on your phone with a reminder if need be, and start accumulating those resources for your future helper head of time. So that way when they start on the first day, you already have a library of these are the things I expect this is what I would like it to look like. And they can hit the ground running on that right at the beginning of when they start. Patricia Sung 02:46 Another helpful hint is to put all of those things in one place so that they're easy to refer to. And that's when the reasons I like loom is because it houses everything for me. But if you don't want to have that extra expense, find a folder on your computer or a shareable drive that you can just dump everything into and with a simple label so that they're able to find what they need quickly. Doesn't have to be like super fancy and detailed, but have it all in one place so that it's easy for everyone to locate that one folder or location or wherever you have it stocked.
