1. The Evolution of Marvel Comics: From Print to Digital By: Tristen Clark
2. A Brief History • Marvel started in 1938 as Timely Publications • Launched titles such as Strange Tales, Tales of Suspense, Journey Into Mystery along with the name Marvel Comics in 1961.
3. Evolving • Marvel Entertainment, was bought by Disney for $4 billion in 2009. • In March 2011, Marvel and Disney began jointly publishing Disney/Pixar Presents magazine.
4. The Digital Age • In March 2012 Marvel announced its Marvel ReEvolution initiative that included Infinite Comics.
5. From Paper to the Screen • Marvel Digital Unlimited launched in November, 2007. • They even introduced motion comics to series like Astonishing X-Men, Spider-Woman, Iron Man, and the Black Panther. • Astonishing X-Men (Motion Comic)
6. Digital Comics Creation • Several methods of digital comics creation include pressure-sensitive graphics tablet and a computer graphics program. • Other approaches include drawing in vector graphics applications with or without a tablet and the use of 3-D computer graphics.
7. Example of a Tablet INTUOS PRO Used for drawing images that are automatically brought up on the computer such as drawing digital comics and making designs.
8. Vector Graphics • Uses points, lines, curves and shapes which are based on mathematical expressions to represent images in computer graphics.
