-- About the event --
The latest trends as well as restrictions resulting from the pandemic moved many of the activities and services used in our personal and professional lives to an online space. This transition is having a direct impact on how our data and information are being stored and protected, while besides organisations and companies responsible for our “online safety” are constantly increasing the level of protection, we can also actively support this process if we are aware of the threats and ways of how to stay safe online. This is even more important to the educational institutions, as many of the trainings and courses are being delivered online.

Jan Carroll, lecturer/course creator at UCD Professional Academy and budding entrepreneur (www.fortifyinstitute.com) will join us on the day, offering us an insight into the current state of the art in field of cybersecurity, current threats and hints and tips on how to stay safe online.

Vicky Twomey-Lee, Software Engineer, Advocate of Diversity In Tech and Tech, Event Organiser will join us on the day to further explore the topic of cybersecurity as well as to share her experience with the ERASMUS+ projects called CYBER.EU.VET (https://cybervet.eu/) aimed at strengthening of the European VET capacity to recognise and manage cyber security threats.
