It splits above suprasternal notch which contains lower parts of anterior jugular veins, jugular arch, sternal head of sternomastoid muscle and some lymph nodes. 3-Posterior: Ligamentum nuchae and spine of C7. 4-Anterior: Symphesis menti, Body of hyoid and suprasternal notch.
