  4. The Master Leaves Why does Jesus say the master leaves?

    What do you learn about the master when he leaves? Have you ever thought about the truth that the Kingdom of God is now our responsibility (Matt 6:19 teaches that the keys to the Kingdom are in our hands!)
  5. Dividing the money: Q: How does the master determine which

    servant gets how much money? - Their gifts. Q: Does that seem fair – some are gifted and talented and given more – while others are not? – look at your list - Maybe not! - But why do you think some have a lot and others little? …The fall! Q: If you have more gifts – what does that mean? - Luke 12:48: From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
  6. The Master’s Return Q: In the story are the men

    awarded or disciplined because of the amount of gifts they have? - No – either way the master is generous with them and gives beyond what they deserve. Q: So the master judged them how? Decided ‘ Good job – or bad? - What they did with their gifts. What did the master tell the servant who gained 5 more and the one who gained 2 more – was he more proud of the one who gained 5?
  7. Parable of the Talents The story is about realizing your

    gifts and blessings and talents – and using them to fulfill the responsibilities and opportunities that God gives us to advance the Kingdom!
  8. What is your purpose? • Genesis 1 – Made in

    God’s Image and made to show God! • Chief end (purpose) of Man (all people) – To Glorify God and Enjoy Him Forever • Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
  9. The Lazy Servant Q: What did he do with his

    money? Q: If he did not lose money – why is this wrong? Q: Why did he not do anything good with the money?
  10. How Do You View God? What you think about when

    you think about God is the most important thing about you. – Tozer
  11. Prayer Requests • Mel – experiencing a lot of back

    pain. Pray for healing • Jena – experiencing difficult relationships in her program, looking for a volunteer opportunity. Pray for healthy relationships and healing of relationships in her program, as well as the right volunteer position to open up for her. • Liz and Neal – Trying to graduate. Pray for Neal’s professors to be accessible, helpful. Pray for Liz to finish strong, for strength as she deals with health issues, for her health issues not to interfere with her school work. • Faulkner Family – Brock is in Houston for 100 days undergoing Leukemia treatment; his family is in College Station.
