harakiri design Josef Richter Avoid these repeating flaws. They can
kill the app.
No dashboards (Android thing)
No hints. If you need them, you’re doing it wrong.
Don’t misuse standard UI elements. Pagination here shouldn’t mimic tabbar.
Refresh buttons usually not needed. Pull-to-refresh has grown to widely
understood de-facto standard.
Don’t let users configure everything (changing items on tabbar here).
It’s your task to make it “right”, so no alibism...
App should never start with config.
Don’t misuse standard UI. Garbage on navigation bar.
Be consistent. Can’t use different fonts and colors on each
screen.
Use common sense. Utterly stupid date format here. Also invest
into quality and consistent iconset.
Not reading HIG is rude and arrogant. Everything wrong in
this app.
Avoid these help pages. If you can’t help yourself, at
least avoid having it blurred, unreadable and poorly designed.
HIG dribbble.com/tags/iphone p rns.com Read HIG!!! Don’t “invent” miracle UI,
until you’ve mastered HIG. Copy existing apps (the good ones).
