What’s Happening? Meet Mr. Conway Shout Outs! John Conway is currently the Internship Coordinator at MTI and has held that posiƟon for two years. Prior to that, he served as the VocaƟonal Administrator for MTI and North Marion High School. This is his 13th year in educaƟon, where he began teaching at a middle school right out of college and then working three years as an instructor for Marine Mechanics. He worked three years at Indian River State College and then decid- ed to work in the private secƟon for a large porƟon of his career. So why did he choose to come back to educaƟon despite an extremely lucraƟve career in the private sector? Because John Conway has a passion that cannot be contained. He realized educaƟon was where he wanted to end his career. John believes that the key to enjoying life is the ability to select a job, not to have to take one. Based on the opportuniƟes you gain from educaƟon, one can select the life he or she wants to live. He chose to dedicate his life to educaƟon because he feels that he can help students obtain educaƟon to help change their life through experience and contacts. As an Internship Coordinator he does this daily. His goal in life is to inspire students, faculty, parents and community members. He has three points to his mission: moƟvate people to think, remind people to be aware of what they have and what they don’t have and to take note of the posiƟve and inspire those around him through music and art to generate comfort and conversaƟon. CongratulaƟons to our SkillsUSA 2014-15 elected officers: Jared Lester - Law Conrad Edwards - IT Jacklyn Cash - Career Academy Justus Blunt - IT These students, along with the three additional officers will be attending the State Leadership Training Workshop for officers at Lake Yale the end of October. October’s D.R.I.V.E. quality is RESPECT!
