Of Great Value | Part 3

Jesus told a series of parables that will lead us to see a part of the gospel story and representing the Father’s kingdom on earth. To find something that we give our whole lives to is rare. Jesus led the way when He gave everything He had and we can do the same to see the Kingdom of God grow. Our values at Renewal, can only be lived out in Him, as the Kingdom of Heaven is where His values prevail in our lives. How can they be weaved into the life of Renewal? How can they link to our core four that are based around people?

  1. He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is

like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” Matthew 13:31–35 (NIV)
  2. He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven

is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. Matthew 13:31–35 (NIV)
  3. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in

your minds because of your evil behaviour. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation - if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. Colossians 1:21–23 (NIV)
  4. Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of

God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1–2 (NIV)
  5. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the

gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:1–4 (NIV)
