  8. STEP 2 FORMAT THE BOOK TITLE • The main title

    is italicized. Italicism looks like this. Do not underline the title. • The first letter of the title has a capital letter e.g. Stony creek woman: the story of Mary John • The first letter of the subtitle has a capital letter e.g. Stony creek woman: The story of Mary John • Any proper nouns, like names are also capitalized e.g. Stony creek woman: The story of Mary John • For books the title of the book is italicized e.g. Barman, J. (1991). The west beyond the west: A history of British Columbia. Toronto, ON: Toronto University Press. • For articles the title of the journal is italicized e.g. Scruton, R. (1996).
