  1. ABOUT ME • My name is Funfere koroye, i am

a Biker and Product Designer of every day things.
  2. THE INDUSTRY • There is no industry, so to be

honest we are suffering as product designer of physical objects in Nigeria. • Tecno is the only ID job in Nigeria, but its a sad one at that. • However there are so many avenues and companies that can use this service.
  3. MY PRODUCT • I noticed nigerian waiters suffering to open

wine and even the average youth, so i just wanted to attempt a solution.
  4. THE PROCESS • I went through a lot of ideas,

user questioning and 3d modelling to get to this phase. • Form must follow Function, it can just look good or only serve a purpose.
  5. PRINCIPLES • Good Design Is Honest. • Good Design Is

Aesthetic. • Good Design Is Innovative. • Good Design Is Unobtrusive. • Good Design Is Long Lasting. • Good Design Makes a Product Useful. • Good Design Is Environmentally Friendly. • Good Design Is as Little Design as Possible. • Good Design Makes A Product Understandable. • Good Design Is Thorough Down to the Last Detail.
  6. CHALLENGES • My major challenge was money but i used

my salary to sort that out, and of course finding a fab- lab for basic R&D. • I had to go to china; which isn’t an issue because Apple and Nike do it. • Unlike UX, ID takes a lot of capital before the sample but the Intellectual property is lucrative.
  7. USERS • Users define the ergonomics and innovation in ID

and DP, just watching people struggle shows where changes must be made. • Ethnographic research is key, thats how tecno introduced the dual sim phone; i watched thousands of videos of wine opening to see the solution.
  8. SYNERGY • Andela and many others like her have changed

the game in Nigeria. • Africa doesn't need aid, we need trade. • Product and software must be one in the near future, form always follows function. So lets collaborate!
  9. NEXT STEP • We must risk it and sell to

our selves (most importantly get on kickstarter) the future generation must get into product, 5 ID professionals in lagos isn't enough. • The movement must grow like it did with UX. • CC hub should make the synergy happen by fire, by force.
