  5. About the style Batucada is a style of Brazilian Samba

that has a strong African flavour. Some traditional Samba percussion, such as Cuica (small drum), Pandeiro (tambourine) and Timbales (double drums on stand) have been replaced by other instruments that most music classrooms are likely to have. I have taken the performance style and arranged it so it is suitable for the Primary classroom, but still retains the flavour of a Batucada. © Welcome to Music www.welcometomusic.net pg. 5 Makumba Bucket drum parts Bass/Centre - surdo part Side drum - conga part Rim of drum - clave part or snare drum Instrument parts include: Snare drum, agogos, guiro, cabassa and tambourine plus claves, congas and surdo which are played on the bucket drum see below. I think that, if all rhythms are played on buckets, they will get a bit lost. Meaning - about black witchcraft © Susie Davies-Splitter & Phil Splitter Clip 1 Example Clip 2 Example
