IS A INNOVATIVE, DURABLE AND RELIABLE SOLUTION FOR THE LONG-TERM PRESERVATION OF DIGITAL DATA, THAT MEETS THE NEW CHALLENGES POSED BY DIGITAL ARCHIVING ON MAGNETIC MEDIA ARCHIFLIX is based on the recording of visual digital codes on lm, combining the advantages of analog and digital. ARCHIFLIX currently presents itself as an alternative to traditional archiving methods of MicroForms - MicroForms are an analog reproduction of source fi les. - Their restoration results in a raster fi le and not the source le. (Tiff vs PDF) - No metadata are preserved.

on a microform I can see my images » THE AIM IS NOT TO HAVE AN IMAGE, BUT THE DIGITAL FILE THAT REPRESENTS THAT IMAGE TO OBTAIN YOUR FILE, ANYWAYS YOU NEED TO SCAN THE MICROFORM BY SCANNING A MICROFORM IMAGE, YOU OBTAIN A FILE OF THE SCANNED IMAGE, NOT THE FILE OF THE ORIGINAL IMAGE BY SCANNING AND DECODING AN ARCHIFLIX IMAGE, YOU OBTAIN A PERFECT COPY OF THE ORIGINAL FILE ON ARCHIFLIX, YOU CAN'T SEE THE IMAGES, BUT YOU CAN'T SEE THEM ON LTO TAPE OR HARD DISK EITHER ON THE OTHER HAND, WITH ARCHIFLIX, THE MEDIUM IS PERMANENT, UNLIKE MAGNETIC MEDIA PIXA CODE ARCHIPRINT OUTPUT ANALOG SCAN PIXA CODE TIME 010011101101011101111011 011011010010011101101011 101111011011011011001001 110110101110111101101101 101000111011010111101111 011001101101001110110101 110111101101100110100111 101101011101111011011101 Digital File A 010011101101011101111011 011011010010011101101011 101111011011011011001001 110110101110111101101101 101000111011010111101111 011001101101001110110101 110111101101100110100111 101101011101111011011101 Digital File A
  7. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved ARCHIFLIX DECODING IS

AN OPEN STANDARD IN 50 OR 100 YEARS, ANYONE WHO FINDS AN ARCHIFLIX REEL WILL KNOW HOW TO DECODE IT, AND WILL BE ABLE TO BUILD OR HAVE BUILT A SIMPLE SCANNER IF NECESSARY. IN 50 OR 100 YEARS, NO LTO TAPE WILL BE ABLE TO BE PLAYED BACK WITHOUT THE NECESSARY MACHINES, WHICH ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO MANUFACTURE ONESELF. TECHNOLOGIES SUCH AS DNA OR SILICA REQUIRE EXTREMELY COMPLEX EQUIPMENT FOR THEIR READING, WHICH CANNOT BE BUILT BY ORDINARY MORTALS. THE ALGORITHM FOR DECODING THE DATA IS DESCRIBED ON EACH FILM REEL THE ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A SCANNER TO BE USED ARE ALSO CLEARLY MARKED ON THE FILM A BLUEPRINT OF A SCANNER IS ALSO PRINTED ON THE FILM
  8. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved THE ARCHIFLIX PROCEDURE

1 ARCHIFLIX ARCHIFLIX interfaces easily with any secure e- archiving system The Client accesses the ARCHIFLIX platform directly (either in SaaS mode or via an application integrated on their server) and deposits the files to be archived The digital files are converted to ARCHIFLIX PIXA A quality control and authenticity check is carried out, and the digital magnetic file deposited on the platform is deleted The ARCHIFLIX media is securely transferred to the ARCHIFLIX VAULT storage location (location defined with the Client) 2 ARCHIFLIX VAULT OPTION Storage handled by the client or by an ARCHIFLIX-approved partner according to specifications defined by the client ▪ Storage of monitored film media in a secure location compatible with ambient temperature/humidity ▪ Security level of the storage place and monitoring mode ▪ Duration of the storage service and monitoring defined according to a specification ▪ Time to achieve an authenticated retrieval for media recovery 3 DATA READ-BACK OPTION Direct recovery by the Client,
 using ARCHIFLIX or any
authorized third party ▪ Secure removal of archived media from storage ▪ Scanning of film media in a secure environment ▪ Running the software to decode the images from the scan ▪ Secure recovery of original digital data with authentication ▪ Recovery time specified with the Client (ease of execution thanks to an open access system)
  9. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved COMPARATIVE MAGNETIC ARCHIFLIX

Maintenance and migration YES NO Duration in time 4 years 100 years ++ Storage cost over time High Low Energy consumption High Low Carbon footprint High Low Dependence on the evolution of technologies Very high None Risk of loss of information High Very low ARCHIFLIX ELIMINATES THE RISK OF TOTAL OR PARTIAL LOSS OF SENSITIVE DIGITAL DATA EXAMPLE FOR THE CINEMA ▪ A typical US studio spends about $20k/year on digital preservation of each title. ▪ Over 50 years, this amounts to USD 1 million. ▪ The numerous migrations and manipulations required will inevitably lead to errors and losses. The high cost of traditional conservation regularly leads to the abandonment of certain titles, which are then potentially lost forever. ▪ If a film has not been exploited for some time, financial driven decisions will lead to discontinuing maintenance, which will result in the work disappearing for good. An ARCHIFLIX backup makes it possible to easily restore it. ▪ For a small percentage of total cost (<3%), ARCHIFLIX offers the guarantee of retrieving the original source element. EXAMPLE FOR DATA CENTERS ▪ In a cloud data center, the data is distributed redundantly across multiple disks and servers, and no one knows exactly where it is. In the event of a crash or other incident, part of the data is lost, but the data center is not responsible for the value of this data (Gandi, OVH, GMAIL incidents, etc.). Although servers are very useful for "hot" or "lukewarm" data, they do not solve the problem of legacy data that must be preserved in the very long term. ▪ The LTO alternative is subject to regular migrations made necessary by the rapid recorders’ obsolescence. Today LTO 9 is not backwards compatible beyond LTO 8, and a new version is delivered every 18 to 24 months. It is very difficult for a customer to ensure that the archive provider will not, at a certain point, merge data from one LTO tape to another, as capacity increases. Particularly in the event of company bankruptcy, while servers and robots are being seized, the risk of no longer being able to access the data increases considerably over time.

  13. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved KEY BUSINESS MODEL

    ELEMENTS THE PRICE IS
BASED ON USAGE : LICENSE PER
VISUAL CODE ▪ Current pricing already attractive to many prospects ▪ Pricing depends on various market parameters ▪ Applied degressivity according to use THE ROADMAP SHOWS ROOM FOR
REDUCING COSTS Data storage capacity will grow by an order of magnitude due to visual code density increasing: ▪ Positive leverage effect
 on volume ▪ Enlargement of the targeted markets B 2 B 2 B ▪ Provision of equipment
and technology ▪ Model similar to that of a photocopier: according
to usage ARCHIVING SERVICE PROVIDERS, LARGE DATA OWNERS, POST- PRODUCTION LABS,
  14. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved KEY BUSINESS MODEL

ELEMENTS NO OWNERSHIP ▪ We deliver and maintain the machine that is not actually owned by the partner. ▪ Upgrades will come with a simple evolution of the service cost, but the machine does not become obsolete for the partner. ▪ No one gets stuck with a old model that is obsolete. COST ▪ The film stock ▪ The film processing ▪ The licence fee per Pixa. ▪ The maintenance fee. ▪ The operators and overhead ▪ The margin of the partner Most of the cost is therefore proportional to the usage. An operator needs to be able to: VERY SIMPLE TO USE ▪ Load and unload a camera ▪ Use a simple software to launch the operation ▪ Simple to train in 2 or 3 days
  15. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved KEY BUSINESS MODEL

ELEMENTS SAAS ▪ Archiflix orders can be integrated into a regular document archival systems usable by the end client through a partner. ▪ The user can then transparently decide what goes to archive on the « classic route » and what needs to be archived with Archiflix. WHAT IS NEEDED FROM THE PARTNER ▪ Just a bit of space and a good communication network as the machine will report on the usage to us and send signals of success or malfunctions. ▪ Digifilm will not be aware of what is actually recorded for security reasons, but only the technical data - number of PIXA etc… A LIVE SUPPORT We offer different grades of tech support • Bronze • Silver • Gold
  16. DIGIFILM - 2014-24 - All Rights Reserved KEY BUSINESS MODEL

ELEMENTS PERFORMANCES ▪ At this stage, we position ourselves as an alternative to Microforms. ▪ 5000-10000 documents (1GB) can be recorded on about 5 minutes. ROADMAP ▪ The future will allow for about 200GB per 600M/reel, maybe more. ▪ Such a reel will be recorded in 20 minutes, 10 GB/Min. VOLONTARY LIMITATIONS In any case, we don’t want to create something that will require a super high tech device for the retrieval. It’s of the utmost importance that we keep our philosophy of Retro Futurism, simple and accessible device and process, otherwise we would be back in the obsolescence game that we’re trying to escape from.
