  1. Boom. I really like the use of the full-screen video

in the background. It’s engaging and acts as a visual story of the complete service that Cactus offers to its customers.

  2. #Trophies But seriously, this is awesome to see as a

candidate. I’m definitely interested in joining an elite team of believers, doers and achievers. Cactus definitely sets the bar high, and is proud of it (as they should be).
  3. Keep scrolling… This quote really “sets the stage” for the

type of talent that Cactus Club is looking to hire. Also, the video is another great interactive piece that helps candidates get more familiar with the organization.
  4. Keep scrolling… Hey… social media channels specifically based around careers

and employees? Definitely an interesting way to generate some employee-generated content and showcase a “day in the life” at Cactus.
  5. Although, with any type of social media efforts… It’s important

to keep it updated and as fresh as possible. What’s Cactus been up to the last few months?
  6. Life at Cactus Is it just me… or is everyone

at Cactus the happiest person I’ve ever seen? Pharrell should have shot his “Happy” video at Cactus.
  7. …Daaaamn Cactus! Back at it again with some of the

most compelling copy I’ve seen on a careers page.
  8. These 3 different call-outs are really powerful. I can tell

    that they have
 - The best talent
 - A culture of continued betterment
 - And Cactus is all about teamwork
  9. Alignment and culture are clearly major theme for Cactus recruiting.

This is a place where you are purpose- led, and not job-led.
  10. Cactus Choice Awards Whaaaat? Cactus Choice Awards? Now this is

    cool.
It’s always great when companies really give back to, and celebrate their people. This takes that NEXT LEVEL.
  11. Kaizen This. Is. Awesome. Cactus Club really, really knows how

to build an incredible employer-brand. These development opportunities are perfect ways to infuse the “Kaizen”culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Service Opportunities Another engaging video that showcases some of the

real people, and culture that makes Cactus Club such a great place to work? I’ll take it.
  13. I’m starting to sound like a broken record here. But

Cactus truly knocks their employer-brand out of the park… And then Jose Bautista bat flips it.
  14.
Cactus really is in a different league in terms

of their ability to create compelling stories that attract candidates. It’s clear they’re looking for teammates, and not employees.

 #TeamWorkMakeTheDreamWork
  15. Now this is a WOW factor. The idea of this

career stepladder is simple… but offers so much value to someone who is looking to grow with Cactus. I’ve NEVER seen this on a careers page before. This is how it’s done.
  16. First impression? I feel that all the amazing employer-branding, and

interactivity that Cactus had leading up to this disappeared.
  17. Standard job postings do a good job at being job

postings. But they rarely ever standout, or give a candidate an experience to engage with.
  18. This job ad could definitely do more in the way

of showcasing that amazing employer-brand that Cactus Club has built so far!
  19. What’s important to remember is this: Every company is looking

to attract and acquire their next superstar. But, most ATS systems offer the exact same experience to these candidates. There’s little differentiation in candidate experience.
  20. If I take out the logo. It becomes a little

unclear of which company I’m even applying to. I’d love to see some of those great videos, or interactivity, or career paths or even some smiling people here again! Differentiation is always a GOOD thing when it comes to candidate experience.
  21. This copy wins.

Just check out how Cactus offers

purpose to their employees of all levels. It’s all about winning… as a team.
  22. It’s also great how succinct these responsibilities are. Cactus doesn’t

focus on listing out specific tasks or defining a specific role. They simply state that “your responsibility is to provide an exceptional dining experience”. Simple. Meaningful. And contextual.
  23. This might be the best Call To Action I’ve ever

seen on a careers page. Granted they are a service company so this makes sense. But, props to Cactus for sticking true to the “drop off your resume in person” in the digital age.
  24. This seems kind of “stock”. I think there could be

some more of that compelling copy about how important Head Office is as a support system to keep the front-lines running! Where’s the love for Head Office?
  25. The front-lines of Cactus club looked awesome & fun. I

think there is definitely an opportunity here to bring some of that “awesome & fun” to the Head Office page as well.
  26. LinkedIn is one of the best ways to connect with

professionals… But it’s also pretty closed-box in terms of creative and branding.
  27. And creative & branding are two things that Cactus does

REALLY well. It would be great to have that Cactus experience extend over into LinkedIn. But that’s just a limitation of LinkedIn as an ATS.
  28. Although the copy is great. I think there is more

to be said to the candidate that is “looking to gain valuable experience with a leading edge company”. I’d love to see some more context behind this.
  29. These sound awesome… But these are a little bit vague

in terms of a job description. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures? But… what exactly are they doing?
  30. My thoughts?

I think that there is a

disconnect in telling candidates that they will “gain valuable admin/office experience with a leading edge company”…and giving them a list of responsibilities that includes:
 “General office duties”.
  31. Again. I like to blank out the logo in job

ads and ask myself… What company am I applying to? Which position am I applying for? What exactly will I be doing? Job ads generally do the last 2 things pretty well. What sets this apart from any other candidate experience?
  32. I think Cactus does EVERYTHING right. They really understand the

candidate experience and their careers page proves it.
  33. Cactus Club sets the bar for how a company should

engage their candidates. They offer more of this type of experience. And offer less of this type of experience.
  34. The Cactus Club candidate experience is, by far, one of

the best I’ve ever seen. It was actually really difficult to do this teardown because of how cohesive their employer-brand was, and because they packed so much meaning into every step of the candidate journey. The careers page design was engaging, and the content and copy choices were incredibly compelling. Cactus has mastered the art of alignment, and has created a company culture of continuous improvement (kaizen). Every level of their organization is important AND celebrated. Cactus is all about being a purpose-driven organization and they speak directly to the type of outstanding talent that they have, and speak directly to the type of outstanding talent they will continue to hire.
  35. Biggest take-away? An organization is only as good as the

people they hire. Which is exactly why Cactus Club is an award-winning company. When it comes to candidate experience and talent acquisition… I think that every company could take a page out of Cactus Club’s book (or choose an item off their menu).
