The Intellipodcast Software Platform: Why It’s Going to Change the Way New Media and Social Networks Work Together
  2. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 2 SOCIAL NETWORKING The numbers –

January 2008 – Analysis by Senior Web Strategist at Forrester Research, San Francisco, CA Facebook Quick Analysis: The hot talked company Facebook has the highest growth rate, and at Forrester we predict it to achieve the same number of registered users as MySpace in Q4 of 2008, or early 2009 given the current growth rates. The widget platform, which launched summer 2007 has had strong growth as more than 13,000 applications have been launched. Please don’t call this the MySpace killer as each of these sites serves a different demographic, with a different purpose, and different tools. Facebook is more of a ‘lifestyle’ play that allows members to connect to each other. General Growth * More than 60 million active users * An average of 250,000 new registrations per day since Jan. 2007 * An average of 3% weekly growth since Jan. 2007 * Active users doubling every 6 months User Demographics * Over 55,000 regional, work-related, collegiate, and high school networks * More than half of Facebook users are outside of college * The fastest growing demographic is those 25 years old and older * Maintain 85 percent market share of 4-year U.S. universities User Engagement * Sixth-most trafficked site in the United States (comScore) * More than 65 billion page views per month * More than half of active users return daily * People spend an average of 20 minutes on the site daily (comScore)
  3. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 3 Applications * No. 1 photo

sharing application on the Web (comScore) * Photo application draws more than twice as much traffic as the next three sites combined (comScore) * More than 14 million photos uploaded daily * More than 6 million active user groups on the site International Growth * Canada has the most users outside of the United States, with more than 7 million active users * The U.K. is the third largest country with more than 7 million active users * Remaining top 10 countries in order of active users (outside of the U.S., Canada and UK): Australia, Turkey, Sweden, Norway, South Africa, France, Hong Kong Platform * Over 7,000 applications have been built on Facebook Platform * 100 new applications added per day * More than 80% of Facebook members have used at least one application built on Facebook Platform MySpace Quick Analysis: MySpace the largest Social Network in North America maintains a dominant position as media site, primarily aimed at youth, giving them the opportunity to relate to brands and bands, as well as self-express. This site will continue to do with advertisers and marketers. Expect to see more TV and video networks to integrate and work with MySpace, who has the new generation that Generation X was to MTV. Metrics · MySpace has more than 110 million monthly active users around the globe
  4. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 4 · We are the country’s

  5. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 6 Introduction These are only the

top 2 social networks on the Internet. In fact, there are hundreds more being used by all types of people from Bebo to YouTube to LiveSpace and LinkedIn. People inherently have the need to connect to each other and interact with each other and are seeking out more and more ways to do so. Regarding the use of social networking in the transformational, spiritual and coaching industries, a few platforms exist such as Zaadz and the now in beta Gaia. And some transformational sites with video content, such as TSTN have absolutely NO social networking tools available. All have the capability to view video or to link to video from YouTube or Google video for example. Many have photo areas, and some have blogs and feeds as well as various ways for people to interact with each other – by messages or email lists or friends lists. PODCASTING AND VIDEOCASTING As of April 2007, Apple announced that over 100 million iPods had been sold. Edison Research in their 2007 report made the following findings: (Source: Paul Colligan & Alex Mandossian’s podcasting site)  In 2006, 22% of their (solid) sampling had “heard” of Podcasting. The number for 2007 was 37%. Awareness continues to grow. Very good.  The growth of people who had listened to or viewed a Podcast rose only a small amount between 2006 and 2007. Can’t read my notes enough to get you the right number but trust you me this - just because they’re heard of Podcasting, doesn’t mean they’re doing anything about it.
  6. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 7  Podcast consumers are tremendously

balanced from an age/sex perspective. Any concepts that this audience is a young male geek crowd needs to go away.  Podcast consumers spend an average of 13.08 hours on the Internet a week whereas the non-consumers only spend 8.22.  Finally, and this one is very important, 40% OF PODCAST CONSUMERS HAD PAID COLD HARD CASH FOR CONTENT ONLINE compared to only 11% for those who hadn’t. Podcast content is teaching them the value of good content - so much so that they are willing to pay for it. There are hundreds of podcasting sites as well. From Revver to Podango to the ever booming Apple iTunes. In these days of open source development, it is easy enough to add all these pieces and parts into your own website or sites and create all the pieces and parts separately. So why consider an integrated platform for both social networking and new media tools like podcasting? Why is intellipodcast different? The intellipodcast software platform, now 2 years in development and newly releasing version 1.2 in February 2008, is the only integrated social networking and new media tool software available on the market that does all of the following: Functionality Zaadz Gaia Beliefnet Beta Intellipodcast/ SpiritLinc Users can record video and audio online
  7. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 8 Users can upload pre- recorded

video and audio online Users can link to YouTube videos or Google videos ALL videos are served by BrightCove Users can link to YouTube videos Users can chat instantly to others using instant messaging Users can create blogs Users can create multiple podcasts on different show ideas Users can generate iTunes URLs Users can create RSS feeds Users can pick and subscribe but nor create Users have the ability to tag their content to multiple other sites Users can use message board style forum for creating communities of knowledge around topics of interest Multiple channel capability for many separate channels
  8. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 9 Users can EMBED YOUR BRANDED

PLAYER on their own websites and blogs and grow your marketing efforts for you virally across the web E-commerce capability built into the software – store layers with multiple categories Newsletters can be sent from the admin side to all users Live Internet TV broadcasts can be optionally developed as an added revenue generating opportunity for those wanting to televise seminars on the Internet and charge for pay-per view of the seminar online Software has multiple language capability to spread your message to a worldwide audience and not just to North America or English speaking audiences Modularized programming in .net 2.0 language Written in HTML and Written in HTML, Flash and Javascript Written in an older PHP
  9. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 10 Javascript version Ads can be

played in front of and behind all videos if desired Completely customizable look and feel We are working on making the flash player video-clickable as well in version 1.2 so that clicking on a product in a video would actually link out to a sale page. Multiple subscription levels are available We created this feature-rich software platform with the intention of bringing together the global community in one integrated site, providing them a place to learn, teach, grow and interact with each other while providing a way for the website owners to generate massive revenue for themselves as well with multiple opportunities built right into the site to sell products and services, and to sell sponsorship areas. This is especially useful for the transformational field. Right now there is much cross-selling going on to the same audience who are, in fact, such fans of transformational work that they usually belong to multiple lists. This cross marketing results in a LOT of spam and as well results in members UN-subscribing from marketing lists.
  10. Proposal for Intellipodcast Services 11 When you integrate social networking

into a website, you give your visitors not only a reason to come back and STAY on your site, but you give them the opportunity to purchase more of your items, watch video streaming content or pay per view content, build communities and establish relationships, take action for social cause and many other actions as well. But because the platform is so customizable, you are able to add even more items to the site in a modular way and create the look, feel and design exactly as you require. When you integrate new media tools into a website, you give your visitors an opportunity to express themselves and share with each other who they are at a personal level – whether that means video or audio podcasts or blogs or simply chatting with one another on the instant messenger or journaling in a blog. It’s a win-win for everyone: the website owners, the customers and the industry. INTELLIPODCAST SOFTWARE IS THE ONLY SOFTWARE PLATFORM ON THE INTERNET THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO THIS ALL.
