  1. Established in 1882, The University of Findlay is an accredited

private, coeducational institution located in northwest Ohio. It is within a two-hour drive of Columbus, Ohio; Cleveland, Ohio; and Detroit, Michigan. The campus is situated in Findlay, a Mid- western city of 37,000 residents noted for its safe, friendly atmosphere and high quality of life. Full-time enrollment is approximately 3,900, includ- ing more than 350 international students from 29 countries and territories. Among The University of Findlay’s educational ser- vices is the Intensive English Language Program (IELP), which trains international students in the English language and American life and customs. The IELP prepares students to succeed by improving their spoken and written English, using computers to prepare classroom assignments and introducing the American higher education system. University credit is earned while studying in the IELP. Students have an opportunity to interact with American students and community members, as well as a chance to take field trips to points of interest in the surrounding area. The university has nearly 60 areas of study leading to four-year bachelor’s degrees, as well as master’s programs. All programs are listed on the inside. Findlay is a small, friendly campus where students receive individual attention from their professors. Students can choose from 70 student organizations and 27 intramural sports, allowing them to learn leadership and interpersonal skills outside of the classroom. 7. Lei Zhao, also known as Michael, is originally from Xi’an,

China, and chose The University of Findlay for two primary reasons. The first was the reputation and accreditation of the environmental, safety and health management program, which is nationally accredited by the U.S. Bureau of Educa- tion and well-known in the industry. The second reason for Lei’s choice was the peaceful and safe atmosphere that surrounds the campus. “I feel I have a home here in the U.S.,” said Lei. My Huyen Nguyen, a native of Vietnam says, “I chose The University of Findlay because I found out that UF has an amazing TESOL program with wonderful teachers. After coming to UF, I knew my decision was the right one. The campus is beautiful and safe. The people are friendly and helpful. On top of that, our school staff, especially the International Admissions and Services Office, is very hospi- table, tolerant and professional, and I really appreciate their kindness. I felt so warm inside and it was like I was home here in the U.S.” When Maria Eugenia Velasquez Zavarce, a native of Caracas, Venezuela, decided to continue her edu- cation, all signs pointed her toward The University of Findlay. “I found the University had a distin- guished MBA program accredited by recognized institutions, their tuition was reasonable and I had a very good feeling about the people in the University and the city,” said Maria Eugenia. Darryl Lai from Malaysia says, “I chose The University of Findlay because it has good Forensic Science and Biology programs. The classes and lab work are very hands-on, which allows me to learn more ef- fectively. I receive more personal attention with my professors compared to bigger universities I have attended. The faculty and staff members are very beneficial in helping me become well adjusted. Be- sides that, I love meeting people from all over the world just to get out of my comfort zone. One thing that sets UF apart is that Findlay is a safe town which is a key factor in choosing a university.” ch h .P. .
