This talk is a vulnerable glimpse into my burnout experience: what led me there, and what helped me recover, and the impacts it had on my career. Spoiler alert: they have all been positive! The main goal is to normalize dialogue around burnout and mental health in tech and in the workplace.

People Partner, Community & Learning at CloudOps
After nearly 15 years in marketing, my journey has led me to the world of HR (or People & Culture as we prefer to call it). For the past 6 years, I have been working for a Montreal-based cloud services company called CloudOps. I now more formally strive to understand what motivates people, creates effective teams, and how the role of community participation and ongoing learning affects people. I am the co-founder of the Eastern Canadian CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation) meetups (which run online, and in non-Covid times, in five cities including Montreal and Quebec City), as well as an organizer of DevOps Montreal and DevOpsDays Montreal. I am happiest when I can spend time with my son, collaborate with others, and be on my bike.
