    within the monasteries. But work is not the center of their monas4c way of life. •  At the produc4on level, they value the quality of their products more than the quan4ty. They also have a special concern for the environment. •  Their approach to publicity and adver4sing is moderate and marked by integrity.
  7. Mission I.  Protec4ng the "Trappist" trademark and common economic interests

    of the members. II.  Monitoring references to the Trappist Order and providing the consumer with accurate informa4on. III.  Facilita4ng coopera4on between the members. IV.  Seeking opportuni4es to expand the network of solidarity and coopera4on with other monas4c organiza4ons at the interna4onal level.
  8. ATP label guarantees: I.  The product must be manufactured within

    the walls of a Trappist monastery or in the vicinity of the monastery, by the monks themselves or under their control and supervision. II.  The produc4on must be of secondary importance within the monastery and it should witness to the business prac4ces proper to a monas4c way of life. III.  The produc4on is not intended to be a profit-making venture. The income covers the living expenses of the monks and the maintenance of the buildings and grounds. Whatever remains is donated to charity for social work and to help people in need.
