DATA CONTENT • Tampere public transportation bus locations from September 3 – October 6 2014 (Sunday September 7 is missing) • Stored in csv-files • 1 csv-file / day • ~500MB / day • Data is collected from SIRI JSON feed • Sampling frequency typically 1Hz, but sometimes slower, especially during peak traffic hours

5. ISSUES WORTH KNOWING • Missing journeys and parts of journeys • Location reporting before the journey started and after the journey ended • Location reporting during transfer drive • Observation lines with empty origin and destination fields

WHAT TO DO WITH BUS LOCATION HISTORY DATA? • Compute data-based schedules and bus stop locations • Analyse travel times • Evaluate bus schedule quality and route planner reliability • Analyse traffic fluency • Analyse driving speeds at different roads • Detect exceptional routes due to e.g. road constructions • Observe waiting times in traffic lights
