[LibreOffice Asia & GNOME.Asia summit 2025] Lightning Talk Day1 - My Journey Contributing to Korean Language Support in FLOSS & renewal {LibreOffice, GNOME} Membership

[LibreOffice Asia Conference 2025 & GNOME.Asia summit 2025] Lightning Talk Day1 - My Journey Contributing to Korean Language Support in FLOSS & renewal {LibreOffice, GNOME} Membership

I have been using Linux since 2004, using Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Mandrake Linux, CentOS, and openSUSE, etc.
My first global summit was GNOME Asia Summit 2013 in Seoul.
Since then, I have contributed to multiple GNOME projects through both Korean translations and code contributions.
I have also contributed to the KDE Character Map.
Also, I have made Korean translation and code contributions to LibreOffice as well.
Yesterday I fixed the W3C document typo error, merged it.
In the W3C document “Requirements for Hangul Text Layout and Typography” ( https://www.w3.org/TR/klreq/ ), there was a typo error in which the term “완성형” was mistakenly written as “완형성”
I found this issue and submitted a pull request, "fixed the Korean typing error (완형성 to 완성형)", in the W3C “Requirements for Hangul Text Layout and Typography” documentation in 2019.
After six years, my contribution was finally reviewed and merged on Friday, December 12, 2025.

There are still many Korean-related errors found across FLOSS projects.
That is why today, I am renewing my LibreOffice and GNOME memberships.
Thank you for listening.
ご清聴ありがとうございました。
