  2. Japanese Textbook Linked Open Data
    (Textbook LOD)
    • A structured dataset of bibliographic information of
    textbooks
    • The dataset was compiled from bibliographic data
    organized by a special library, the Library of Education at
    National Institute for Educational Policy Research, Japan.
    • 7,548 Japanese textbook volumes from 1992 to
    2017
    • 219,018 Resource Description Framework (RDF)
    triples as of April 2019
    • Related resources of textbooks are also included:
    • Curriculum guidelines, subject area, and subject

  3. Textbook LOD’s URI (IRI) enables to
    uniquely identify a textbook in Japan
    • Example of a URI (IRI):

    Type of school, year of authorization, textbook symbol, and textbook number
    are described in the textbook.

  13. Conclusion
    • We introduce a case study for publishing a small
    bibliographic collection as LOD.
    • We provide the Japanese textbook resources as LOD.
    • Using Textbook LOD’s URI (IRI), it has became possible
    to point to Japanese textbooks uniquely.
    • We collaborate with the library for development and
    publication of the dataset.
    • The dataset is freely available under the CC0 (Creative
    Commons Zero) license.
