数多くのカンファレンスで基調講演を行い、記事や研究報告も多数執筆している。手がけた書籍「Head First Object-Oriented Analysis and Design」は高い評価を受け、新しいソフトウェアモデリングやアプリケーション開発プロセスの構築に貢献。IBM/Rational社在籍時はRational Unified Process(RUP)の開発を主導。その後コンサルティングを経て、Ivar Jacobson Consultingの北米支社を統括。Forrester Research社でVPとリサーチディレクターとして活躍し、ソフトウェア開発とデリバリープラクティスに従事。Scrum.org™に加わる前は、Tasktop社でChief Product Officerとして製品管理、エンジニアリング、アーキテクチャを担当した。
