  4. Where we came from
 In 1961 all navigation rights were

    removed on the Forth & Clyde Canal by the Transport Commission to allow a trunk road to be built from Glasgow to Stirling splitting the canal in two Old road
  5. Where we came from • In the early 1970’s the

    Scottish Inland Waterway Association was formed • The Association brought together many of these enthusiastic Volunteers

    volunteering on the Lowland Canals has come from. I shall pass to my colleague Stewart Liddle of Linlithgow Union Canal Society to talk about the future of LCVG.

  9. Where we are now The 8 LCVG partners TOGETHER WITH

    OTHERS : • Support Community Justice Services • Help & support young people, often from chaotic lifestyles • Deliver community regeneration programmes
  10. Where we are going • Continue to develop our own

    organisations • Work in partnership at LCVG to support wider volunteering involvement • Seek out projects that can be carried out in partnership • Be the link between volunteering and Scottish Canals • Have FUN !
