The Start of a Laundry List • Computers – desktops, laptops, tablets • Software – It MUST be Free and Open Source Software, or at the very least reverse engineered closed software • Wires, wiring tools • Antennae • Power systems: rechargeable batteries, power generators (diesel, natural gas, solar)
34. Some Principles To Consider I. It must be built securely, or if it is not possible, know that it is not secure II. Must be able to be used by the majority of people III. Must be buildable using tools that are generally available IV. Little or NO restrictions on sharing of code, hardware design etc. V. No SPOF – Single Point Of Failure
