Simple Morning Routine SUMMARY KEYWORDS spreadsheet, calculate, breakfast, minutes, reordering, figure, alexa, order, hungry, gave, activities, easier, remember, redo, patricia, put, earlier, data, extra wiggle room, eat SPEAKERS Patricia Sung Patricia Sung 00:00 All right, now we're going to figure out how do we how do we know what time all these things need to happen? Well, I'm sharing with you my spreadsheet that you can enter all the things in. Now some of you were gonna be like, I hate spreadsheets, please don't make me that's fine too, you can figure it out by hand, if you want, I find that the spreadsheet, even if you're not a big fan, this spreadsheet is way easier to calculate than trying to do it by hand. So it's totally up to you. No hard feelings either way, you're going to put all of your activities that are happening consecutively into the spreadsheet. And then at the bottom there, you're going to put in what time you have to leave, it will then calculate based on the numbers you put in what time you need to start. And then you'll know how many minutes it was where all your reminders are, because you can go through and be like, Okay, I want to remind her after we finished breakfast, here's how many minutes is that. So when you put it into Alexa your intelligence start time, and then you're going to tell it Okay, three minutes later, do this five minutes later, do this six minutes later to do this. Patricia Sung 00:56 That's where the spreadsheets really helpful, where it tells you exactly how many minutes you need to add in between your, your different tasks, I think they're called in their head. That's right word, and to know when you're going to tell Alexa to do what. So that is how you're going to figure out what your start time is based on what what all the activities that you need to do, and your family needs to do. Based on what time you need to leave, as well as where all the reminders are going to fall in the list. Now, there's a very good chance that you're going to look at that start time and go, heck no, Patricia, that is ridiculous. Yes, it is. Patricia Sung 01:32 When I first did this, my start time was like ridiculous earlier was like 515 or something. And I was like, What am I getting up at 515? Well, this is the point where you can also go back and redo the steps that we just said, don't be like, I don't want to redo it. Okay, you're not redoing the whole thing. What I want you to go back and think about is how did you order things? Can you reorder them in a way that makes it a little bit faster? Can you lower any friction points? Is there something you could do earlier, but also, but also, when you're doing this reordering? Keep in mind that remember, we gave ourselves a lot of extra wiggle room? Because we want to have extra time, not less time. We want it to be too much, then
  2. Transcribed by https://otter.ai - 2 - not enough. And as

you start doing the routine, you will see where do I have too much time? I don't need this much time in here. Where do I Where can I move things around, you will do that as you're going but try not to please make it what you want it to be now without the actual data of trying it out. Because our brain is like no must fix now. And we're not going to know until we do it. So here's a little breather. And know that as you start doing things, and as you start changing them, you will gather that information. It will be okay. I will give you an example super quick. Patricia Sung 02:52 When we first started, I realized that I was giving my son too much time like he didn't need that much time to eat breakfast. So I moved our time start time back sound like yesterday sleeping longer. But what happened is that then he wasn't awake long enough in order to actually feel hungry. And so when it came to breakfast, it was like a big mess because he wasn't hungry. He didn't want to eat and then was taking longer. Whereas before he'd been up for a while then he felt hungry. Okay, now he wants to eat and it was fast. Well, when I pushed it back and he wasn't awake long enough, then it wasn't fast and he wasn't hungry and it was making asleep. So even though we didn't need as much time in like to do things we had a little extra space. We needed that for him to feel hungry and eat breakfast quickly. So know that these are the kinds of data points I never would have known without actually having worked through it. So it will get easier as you go. I promise and it will come together and it does take time and you're not supposed to have it all figured out today. See you next video.
