Community Building That Finally Delivers @taragentile |
[email protected]
When I got started, the main stat I cared about
was RSS subscribers.
As time went on, I cared about Twitter followers, email
subscribers, Facebook likes, Instagram followers, and podcast downloads...
The promise & opportunity of social media marketing has largely
left us with diminishing returns as each new platform emerges.
Our workload continues to increase as we jump from new
opportunity to new opportunity even as those opportunities have shorter & shorter lifespans.
Where does it end?
Is there a way to end this cycle while... -Strengthening
our relationships to customers and prospects? -Learning more about what our customers really need from us as providers? -Scaling back our workloads when it comes to marketing and sales?
Create the community that social media promised you, but couldn’t
deliver on.
Why I’m building CoCommercial
I’m not saying you should start a Facebook group as
an alternative to an email list, Facebook page, or blog.
Create the space and get the hell out of the
way. This isn’t about you. It’s about them.
None
When you get out of the way, you can see
members’ real activity, problems, and preferences.
Connect, don’t broadcast. The best way to learn about the
problems people are facing and actually care about is by letting them talk to each other.
None
People want to connect with people--not brands. But, they’ll associate
those connections with your brand.
Get transparent When you show up, aim for honesty &
transparency with every communication. Take them behind-the-scenes.
None
Walk the walk. Transparency is an opportunity to share your
solution naturally.
Don’t wait for the next wave of digital marketing to
transform your business--create your own.
