Almost everyone attending the IFBC is a food writer via one medium or another. And many attendees monetize their blogs or social media followings. But getting paid to write stories about food is still a rarity. We’ll hear from two professionals about the realities of professional writing including finding paid assignments, working with editors, the changing world of print publications, and more. Katie Workman is a columnist for the Associated Press and Julia O’Malley is a James Beard award winning journalist who has written for many publications and currently writes a food newsletter for the Anchorage Daily News. Our moderator is Doug Levy of Wine & Food World.
